This paper focuses on the development of a secured E-payment system using image-based steganography. The growth in technology has made online shopping an interesting thing but has introduced some security challenges, thereby making security of personal information a major issue for customers, merchants and banking institutions. In a bid to arrest these ugly situation, this paper creates a secured e-payment system using image-based ste-ganography encryption that will allow a customer to provide limited information necessary for fund transfer during online shopping. It also enhances security for customer data and increase their confidence for online transactions. However, the customer after purchase of goods, logs into the encrypted payment platform and pro-vides his/her card details which will be encrypted and encoded into an image for onward transmission to the e-commerce server where the payment details are decrypted. Again, these information are forwarded to the bank for the customer to be billed. The result obtained shows that any interception by an intruder or unauthorized person becomes useless as the decryption key is stored at the e-commerce server. This paper therefore concludes that image steganography encryption will enhance security for online payment and also prevent misuse of cus-tomer’s information.
